Why You Shouldn’t Provide Cow Milk to Your Cat

When I rescue kittens from the street, and if there is no feeding mother available, I initially try to provide them cow milk. But it causes diarrhea.
Later, I learned that cow milk contains lactose, and most cats are lactose intolerant.

What You Can Use Instead
* I found some lactose-free milk supplements that work well.
* These are mostly made from dry goat milk.
* Goat milk is naturally lower in lactose. You can try direct goat milk, but not in concentrated form, as it is too thick and can also cause diarrhea.
You must dilute it well with water.

Important Tips

  • If you’re using dry supplement milk, always read the instructions before feeding the kitten.
  • You can also try chicken stock as an alternative feeding option.
